LoL! W00t! SuX0r! all @ info. management school!

This is extremely funny...
I was pointed to a contest conducted by the shiny new Information Management school — ISiM at University of Mysore, with prizes up to the value of Rs. 50,000 to be won!

As I navigated through the website, I found this page with a very interesting header image(originally huge size, minimised using HTML markup!):

The part encircled in red looked very familiar!

That is this...

A licence for GPL's text?

Lately, it has become very fashionable to “Open Source” or fork an already well established Free/Open Source Software, though their only contribution may be a change of name or if we are lucky, some cosmetic touches.

And every “innovator” wants to release the software in their own custom licence(especially those who create a new company for each software product!) and like most of the software this licence too is just GPL with few names swapped from GNU to say Acme Corp. and creators' names and titles.

It's time that FSF had a provision in the new version of the licence that modified licences should acknowledge that their licence was inspired(too generous a word!) by the GPL!

Settle P2P Lawsuits!

I came across this news report in reddit where University of Maine refused to handover the details of their students to RIAA(or rather MAFIAA :P).

The news report mentions a website — www.p2plawsuits.com, where pirates of P2P can confess and settle their lawsuits.

The only way I have ever heard of underground pirate groups or script kiddies settle whatever is through a nice, warm DoS attack!

Respect the invitation, fry their servers!

PS: Would I be arrested for abetting this "crime"? :D
